London’s Sexy Fish, Richard Caring’s provocatively named restaurant

Dining & Drinking | Restaurant Review

The Sexy Fish Bar

Sexy Fish restaurant London :
Sexy fish, this provocatively named Asian-inspired seafood restaurant and bar, designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, located on the corner of Berkeley Square is one of the most lavish restaurants in London. You can expect warmth in its design and composition. The all-around beautifully displayed art compliments each aspect of the room. Multiple Frank Gehry pieces: one of them a glossy black crocodile of 13ft made from ColorCore Formica and silicone.

Either end of the bar displays blue patinated bronze mermaids by Damien Hirs. Still, the highlight of the main restaurant is the ceiling: the deep sea blue background of the bar’s wall is complemented with the all over the room hand-printed linen coral ceiling panels by Michael Roberts, Vanity Fair’s style editor-at-large, and the beautiful golden tones of the large fish lamps, also by Frank Gehry, hanging above the bar. Sexy Fish is rumored to have cost £15 million to produce.

The private dining room is taken to a new level with the (so far) 2 largest live coral reef tanks in the world. The fine details like the Esmeralda onyx marble, ocean-themed napkin ring holders, crystal glasses, coral themed bouquets and beautifully styled bar are sure to set the mood for a promising high-end dining experience.

As a guest of the private dining room, you can tell that the served wines are kept in ideal condition as the room behind the smoked doors holds state of the art Euro Cave wine cabinets that are an integral part of the décor. The room can host up to 48 guests.

Whether your dining in the private room or the main restaurant, you are in for a treat. Not only your taste buds but also your perception is being challenged as the dishes are served with the greatest elegance: Its menu is an almost overwhelming read taking in everything from oysters, caviar and whole lobsters to sashimi, tataki, tartars and so much more. Expect silver mermaid tails flicking out from your crab salad; a tuna tartare served in a porcelain octopus top off; fish head taps in the loos… And much more.
The bar holds one of the world’s biggest Japanese whiskey collections. Details can be found in ‘Fish Tales’, Sexy Fish’s very own glossy magazine menu. View here.
At the Sexy Brunch parties, guests can enjoy an Asian-focused menu, expert cocktails from Absolut Elyx and upbeat playlists. Each week resident DJs play the finest tunes as the bartenders shake your cocktails and pour Champagne. Keep an eye out for special guest DJ appearances too.

The restaurant and bar are open seven days a week. DJs play relaxed tunes during dinner service and the show goes on until late. Sexy Brunch parties take place every Sunday from 11.30am – 4.30pm
